What Exactly Does The Democratic Party Do

I read an excellent column, “What Do Democrats Need To Do? Act Like an Opposition Party,” by New York Times columnist Jamelle Bouie today. Here are some of the highlights from a group of elected officials we’re counting on to protect us:

Senator Richard Blumenthal: “The champion among big tech executives of First Amendment values and principles” (referring to Elon Musk)

Senator John Fetterman: “The Trump hush money and Hunter Biden cases were both bullshit, and pardons are appropriate.”

Me: Why exactly are we paying these people’s salaries?

Here’s a couple more quotes:

Senator Corey Booker: “I’ve heard [Robert F. Kennedy Jr.] say a lot of things that are absolutely right.”

Senator Chris Coons: “A constructive undertaking that ought to be embraced” (referring to Elon Musk’s fake “Department of Government Efficiency.”)
